1125RR American Superbike Unveiled by Buell
Wisconsin based Buell Motorcycle Company, founded by former Harley Davidson engineer Erik Buell, has unveiled a racing spec edition of its 1125R superbike called the 1125RR. The bike has been designed specifically for competing in the AMA’s American Superbike class. The 1125RR has an MSRP of $39,995 which is nearly $28,000 more than the non-racing stock 1125R.
The differences between the two bikes are sharp, particularly inside the 1125RR’s Rotax-built Helicon Twin 1125cc engine. While changes include revised valves and camshafts, a larger airbox and intake manifold, as well as a higher compression ratio, the 103mm bore x 67.5mm stroke remains the same.
A new exhaust system crafted from titanium shaves some weight from the bike and the stock aluminum wheels have been replaced with 6-spoke magnesium units.
