Summer Lawn Care

The summer months are the prime time in which to enjoy your garden in all its splendour and beauty. However, there is some basic advice that you need to know in regard to your lawn and how to keep it in prime shape for the majority of the year. We all know that certain procedures have to be followed to ensure that it is kept in a reasonable condition over winter however summer is no different and there are some guidelines to follow to guarantee that your lawn is looking as full and green as possible under the scorching summer sun.

First of all makes sure when you are watering your lawn that it is in the morning time and not later on at night. By watering your grass in the morning you are ensuring proper lawn care because it gives it a chance to dry out throughout the course of the day; if you water at night then the garden will stay wet until the next day with no chance to dry and this will encourage fungal growth through humidity and this can be identified by yellow patches throughout the lawn.

Again, many people water their grass every day or every other day in some cases. Again this is encouraging fungal growth especially is it is done at night so space out the days in which you water your lawn but do water it for longer periods than just a quick drizzle with the hose. If you want a full and lush garden then you need the roots to be deep and by watering for longer periods, but less often to allow the ground to soak up the moisture correctly and then dry out during the day, you will be encouraging the lawn to grow in the correct way.
